Warning-point discussion

Post  Dark//Doctor on Sun Feb 08, 2009 2:14 pm

Hi guys,

This is regarding the warning point system. I know every mod can give out warning points. However, we need to justify why the warning point is given out.

As a measure, I suggest that before ANY warning point is given out, us active mods (JK, Shu En, Me and YC ) will discuss if the offence requires the meting out of a warning point.

JK, please discuss before giving warning points; we know you're the creator but every thing still needs to be justified.

Depending on the severity of the action, I would advocate giving a warning point after the 3rd time the offense was committed. After flaming two times, a warning point can be given, and a combination of two or more offenses will immediately result in a warning point.

Nice idea.

I guess this is where a mods-only forum could come in handy- we could set up a topic under Feedback where we discuss measures taken for banning people and if anyone not a mod posts there we can simply give them a warning point straight. (I'm sorry about this, but we don't have a feature for setting up a mod-exclusive topic...)

well i can set up a sub-forum whereby only mods n admins can post
the 2 warnings before giving out a warning point is ok
bt abt the spamming part
i think 2 warnings is too much
i think one will b enough
n if its really serious
like saying fck 20 times in a post
then immediate warning point

CRAP! Sorry Galen, i kinda accidentally clicked the 'edit' instead of 'quote' button, and retyped your post just before this, and then i posted it without realizing i was editing your post, so i had to delete it. 0_0 Sry.

Unlawful and uncalled-for editing - Not insulting -1 warning before point
- Insulting ( Humiliating ) - 2 warning point

I haven't thought of others but I hope this helps.

Huh? But only mods have the power to edit other people's posts... the rest can just edit their own and that's it.

Which is why, come to think of it, having this many mods could be a problem. Maybe we should delegate certain mods to certain parts of the forum?

Yeah, that's kinda true... I guess it would make it easier to mod over everything and dicuss mod things if we all had equal access to all the forums.

<OT> Just came back from this stupid seafood reunion dinner (wtf?) n i'm trying desperately to chiong homework ><.

Since nothing much is left to be discussed about, can this thread be locked?
